The record ends the eight-year run of 2.0, whose worldwide gross NewsX puts at about ₹691 crore. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 released on 15 October 2026.
A second weekend that grew
The film collected ₹25.70 crore net in India on Sunday, 25 October, up 6.4% from Saturday's ₹24.15 crore. Its second weekend, Friday to Sunday, added ₹64.35 crore net. A film that gains on the second Sunday is still drawing new audiences, not only repeat fans.
