Editorial standards
PressRoom exists to give professionals in media, entertainment, technology and business news they can rely on. These standards explain how we work and what you can expect from us.
Accountability
Samantha D'Souza, our Editor-in-Chief, is responsible for everything PressRoom publishes. Every story is approved for publication by the editor-in-chief or an editor acting on their behalf, and stories reviewed under this process say so in the byline.
Accuracy and sourcing
- We verify facts before we publish. Figures, quotes and claims are checked against primary sources: company filings, official statements, regulators, or people with direct knowledge.
- We link to and credit original reporting from other publications. When a story is based on a press release or company announcement, we say so.
- We distinguish clearly between news, analysis and opinion.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made by the newsroom alone. Our owner, Aurist Private Limited, advertisers, sponsors and partners have no say over what we cover or how we cover it, and they do not see stories before publication.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and transparently. Corrected stories carry a correction note explaining what changed. Minor edits for spelling or style are not flagged. To report an error, email [email protected] with the story link.
Sponsored content
Paid content is always labelled Sponsored, names the sponsor, and is produced separately from the newsroom. Outbound links in sponsored content are marked as sponsored for search engines.
Use of AI tools
We use software tools, including AI, to assist with research, monitoring, transcription, translation and drafting. Every story is reviewed and approved by a member of our editorial team before publication, and the newsroom is accountable for everything we publish.
