Truecaller Appoints Rishit Jhunjhunwala as CEO

Truecaller, the Swedish software leader renowned for its caller identification and spam-blocking services, has announced the appointment of Rishit Jhunjhunwala as its new Chief Executive Officer. Jhunjhunwala, who has been with Truecaller since 2015 and currently serves as the Chief Product Officer and Managing Director of Truecaller India, will officially step into the CEO role on January 9, 2025.

This leadership change follows the departure of Alan Mamedi, who has led the company since its inception. Alongside co-founder Nami Zarringhalam, Mamedi revealed that they would transition to more strategic roles as board members and advisors by June 30, 2025, shifting focus to the company’s long-term vision. This move marks a significant step in empowering Truecaller’s executive team to steer the company independently towards continued growth and innovation.

In its financial update, Truecaller announced a 15% year-over-year increase in net sales, which reached 457 million Swedish crowns (approximately $42.21 million) for the most recent quarter. This growth highlights the company’s strong performance as it embarks on the next phase of its leadership journey.

Jhunjhunwala, with his deep understanding of Truecaller’s product and Indian market operations, is expected to lead the company into its next phase of global expansion and innovation, driving new opportunities in the competitive space of mobile technology and digital services.
