PM Modi delivers keynote at NDTV Summit; new TV channel launched

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the keynote address at the inaugural NDTV World Summit on October 21, declaring India a ‘fearless global power.’ 

The summit also marked the launch of NDTV World, a new global news channel set to broadcast across 60 countries, positioning India at the forefront of international media. The news channel aims to provide in-depth global coverage from an Indian perspective, furthering India’s influence on global narratives, according to a press release from the TV news network.

During his address, PM Modi reflected on India’s rapid progress under his leadership, highlighting key achievements within the first 125 days of his third term. These included:

· The construction of 3 crore new homes for the underprivileged.

· Infrastructure investments totaling Rs 9 lakh crore.

· Launch of 15 new Vande Bharat trains.

· Development of 8 new airports.

· A Rs 2 lakh crore youth package.

· A Rs 5 lakh crore health insurance scheme for senior citizens.

Sanjay Pugalia, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of NDTV Network, commended India’s growing leadership role in the international community, especially amidst global crises. He remarked on India’s emergence as a “responsible and fearless global power” under PM Modi’s leadership, with a special focus on the rise of the Global South.

The NDTV World Summit will continue with discussions featuring high-profile figures such as former UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, and Indian celebrities Shraddha Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

The media statement said that the NDTV World television channel aims to be a pioneering force in global media, providing fresh perspectives on international affairs while amplifying India’s voice on the world stage.
