‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Set to Screen at Busan International Film Festival

The highly successful Telugu film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which premiered in theaters on May 9, is now set to showcase
at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) this October.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film has amassed global acclaim, earning ₹1200 crore and becoming the fourth highest-grossing Indian film, surpassing ‘Jawan’.

The film will be screened at BIFF on October 8 and 9, further highlighting its cultural and cinematic impact. A
mythological science fiction set in a post-apocalyptic world, Kalki 2898 AD delves into the birth of Kalki, the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu, who rises to battle evil forces.

The ensemble cast includes major stars such as Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone. In the film, Kamal Haasan portrays the antagonist Yaskin, who seeks to prevent Kalki’s birth, while Prabhas plays Bhairava, an incarnation of Karna. Amitabh Bachchan takes on the role of Ashwathama, a pivotal figure aiding Bhairava.

With international recognition growing, a sequel is already in the works, with 25 days of filming completed.

The film’s soundtrack, composed by Santhosh Narayanan, adds to the grandeur of the storytelling, as it
continues to break records and gain accolades worldwide.
