The 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), set to take place in Goa from November 21 to 28, is introducing a vibrant new event—IFFIESTA. This unique festival will combine films, food, traditional dance, and interactive art, creating an entertainment extravaganza that aims to connect communities and showcase India’s cultural diversity. One of the highlights of IFFIESTA will be performances by 11 traditional dance troupes, each representing different regions of India. Alongside the dance shows, a curated food zone featuring around 15-20 top local and national eateries will offer attendees a taste of India’s culinary heritage, from regional delicacies to fusion dishes.
In collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), IFFIESTA will host a special fashion show inspired by Indian cinema. This event will pay homage to six decades of Indian cinema through fashion, presenting iconic film-inspired designs. By blending elements of film and fashion, the show will highlight the visual journey and cultural influence of Indian cinema over the years.
Attendees can also dive into an immersive, audio-visual experience at the National Museum of Indian Cinema exhibition. This feature offers a historical journey through the evolution of Indian cinema, displaying artifacts and memorabilia that showcase the industry’s growth from its early days to the present.
Another major attraction at IFFIESTA is the Zomato District Entertainment Arena, where fans will have the opportunity to meet celebrities and engage in Q&A sessions, meet-and-greets, and live social media interactions. The Entertainment Arena will also host daily performances, ranging from music and DJ sets to stand-up comedy acts, providing attendees with entertainment that complements the film festival experience.
