Swiggy Launches Project Next to Boost Delivery Partner Growth

Swiggy, a leading online food delivery platform, has introduced Project Next, a transformative initiative aimed at providing career growth opportunities for its 400,000 delivery partners across India. The program is part of Swiggy’s broader Swiggy Skills initiative, launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, focusing on transitioning delivery partners from blue-collar to white-collar roles through structured skill development and training.

Through Project Next, qualified delivery partners will receive specialized training to onboard and manage Swiggy’s growing restaurant network, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This initiative allows them to assist restaurants in delivering high-quality services on the platform. In a short span of five weeks, 100 Swiggy delivery partners have already transitioned into sales executive roles, working with 360 restaurants across India.

Swiggy has set ambitious goals to expand Project Next to 150 markets, including key cities like Vadodara, Amritsar, Nashik, Agra, and Dharwad. This effort is part of a larger strategy to upskill nearly 240,000 delivery partners and 200,000 restaurant partner staff through Swiggy Skills. Additionally, the program aims to help 3,000 individuals secure roles in restaurant operations and retail management, contributing to the growth of India’s food and hospitality sector.

Summary:

  1. Project Next by Swiggy transitions delivery partners to white-collar roles, starting with 100 delivery partners becoming sales executives.
  2. The initiative focuses on skill development, targeting expansion to 150 markets and reaching Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.
  3. The broader Swiggy Skills program aims to upskill 240,000 delivery partners and 200,000 restaurant staff, promoting employment in restaurant and retail management.
