Reliance’s JioStar Reports Historic ₹8,010 Crore Revenue in Q3 FY26

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced a powerhouse performance for its media and entertainment arm, JioStar, for the third quarter of the 2026 fiscal year. Driven by a massive surge in digital engagement and a dominant share in the television market, the media conglomerate reported a gross revenue of ₹8,010 crore. The quarterly results underscore Reliance’s successful integration of content, sports, and technology at a massive scale.

According to the official RIL financial release, JioStar delivered an EBITDA of ₹1,303 crore, maintaining a robust margin of 18.9%. The company’s Profit After Tax (PAT) reached ₹888 crore, reflecting strong operational efficiency despite a competitive media landscape. In the broadcast sector, JioStar reached a staggering 830 million viewers, clocking over 60 billion hours of total watch time during the quarter. The network’s entertainment viewership share grew by 100 basis points year-on-year to 34.6%, nearly equaling the combined market share of its next three largest competitors.

The digital division, led by the streaming platform JioHotstar, witnessed an explosive growth in user base, averaging 450 million monthly active users (MAUs). This represents a 13% increase compared to the previous quarter. Notably, Q3 FY26 marked the platform’s highest-ever engagement for non-sports entertainment content, fueled by original series, reality formats, and blockbuster digital premieres.

Sports broadcasting remains a cornerstone of the JioStar ecosystem. While international cricket continues to drive traffic, the ICC Women’s World Cup emerged as a significant milestone. The tournament final, which saw India crowned as champions, attracted a massive 99 million digital viewers, proving the commercial viability and growing popularity of women’s sports in India.

Beyond the numbers, Reliance emphasized its commitment to “AI-led storytelling” and technological innovation. The quarter saw the introduction of interactive fan experiences and multi-view sports streams, designed to keep users within the JioStar ecosystem longer. As the company continues to win domestic and international awards for its original content, JioStar has firmly established itself as the primary engine of India’s evolving media economy.
