Red FM’s Red Premier League Unites Kashmir with Record-Breaking Cricket Festival

Red FM recently concluded the Red Premier League (RPL), a landmark cricket festival in Kashmir that brought together over 250 players and captivated audiences across the region. As Kashmir’s largest-ever cricket event, RPL exemplified Red FM’s dedication to fostering unity, youth engagement, and community spirit through sports.

The league made waves on social media, gathering an astounding 50 million views and trending on Facebook for 22 consecutive days. Online and offline, the RPL set new standards, drawing record-breaking crowds and electrifying fans throughout its duration. The finals drew over 10,000 fans to Srinagar’s Delhi Public School (DPS), prompting an unexpected venue change to Bakshi Stadium on October 22 to accommodate the overwhelming turnout.

Across the city, full stadiums and traffic jams underscored the massive community impact of the RPL, uniting fans from all walks of life in a shared celebration of cricket. The tournament spanned 37 matches from September 17 to October 22, featuring 12 teams that included national-level and promising young athletes. A mix of seasoned players from India’s Ranji and IPL circuits alongside local Under-19 players highlighted the RPL’s blend of experience and emerging talent, fostering mentorship and growth.

Nisha Narayanan, Director and COO of Red FM and Magic FM, shared her excitement for the RPL, stating, “For us, sports, especially cricket, is a powerful way to connect with audiences beyond radio. The Red Premier League enables us to engage communities meaningfully.” Reflecting on the league’s importance, she added, “Kashmir has been through a lot, and RPL offered an uplifting avenue for its people. This league is about more than cricket—it’s about building community and bringing positive energy to the region.”
