Prime Video India Adds Sony LIV as an Add-On at ₹399 a Month, With Live India Cricket
Prime Video customers can now subscribe to Sony LIV inside Amazon's app, with one bill and one login, bringing live India cricket, Kaun Banega Crorepati and Sony's originals to its add-on store.
Why it mattersA major broadcaster's own streaming service selling through Amazon's storefront shows Indian OTT shifting from standalone apps to aggregators, which changes who owns the subscriber relationship and the data.

Prime Video India has added Sony LIV as an add-on subscription, letting customers buy the Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) streaming service inside Prime Video for ₹399 a month or ₹1,499 a year, the two companies announced in Mumbai on 21 October 2026, Medianews4u reported.
The deal puts a broadcaster-owned service, with live sport and some of Indian television's biggest shows, inside Amazon's storefront. Prime Video already sells more than 30 streaming services this way in India, according to Medianews4u, and adding Sony LIV gives it one of the larger libraries in the store.
What subscribers get
Sony LIV brings more than 450 films and 300 shows in eight languages: Hindi, English, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Gujarati, Bollywood Hungama reported. The headline titles include:
- Originals: the Scam franchise and Gullak, plus the film Sitaare Zameen Par
- Television: Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, Indian Idol Season 17, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Pushpa Impossible from Sony Entertainment Television and Sony SAB
- Live sport: bilateral India cricket, the UEFA Champions League, the French Open, the Commonwealth Games and UFC
India's tour of New Zealand, covering Tests, ODIs and T20Is, began on 22 October, giving the add-on an immediate draw. Upcoming content includes the Tamil service Sony VIZHA, which SPNI launched earlier this week, and a new season of the Marathi quiz show Kon Honaar Crorepati.
How the add-on works
Subscribers watch both services from one app, with a single bill, no separate Sony LIV login, unified search and recommendations, and a shared watchlist and download library. The add-on works on phones, the web, Fire TV, smart TVs and other living-room devices, both reports said.
Gaurav Bhasin, head of AVOD business and marketplace at Prime Video India, said the move was part of making Prime Video customers' main entertainment destination. Rajesh Kaul, chief revenue officer and business head for sports and international at SPNI, called the partnership "an important step in expanding that reach in India".
Why it matters for Indian streaming
For Sony LIV, Amazon's app is a fresh route to paying customers without spending on acquisition through its own app alone. For Amazon, which added Apple TV+ to its Indian store in 2025, every new service makes Prime Video more of a single front door for streaming.
The deal arrives as pay services fight for the same household budgets: Netflix India just logged its biggest quarter for new paid members, and broadcasters are seeking a GST cut to 5% on TV and OTT subscriptions.
