Massive Fire Breaks Out at Tata Electronics Manufacturing Unit in Tamil Nadu’s Hosur

A massive fire erupted in the Tata Electronics manufacturing unit in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, early Saturday morning. The blaze originated around 5:30 am in the mobile phone accessories painting section, quickly spreading across the facility. Prompt action was taken to evacuate the employees, preventing any casualties.

The fire, which broke out in the Uddanapalli unit near Nagamangalam, engulfed the surrounding area with thick smoke, causing panic among workers and local residents. At the time of the incident, about 1,500 workers were on duty for the first shift. Fire brigades were immediately dispatched, and more than 100 police personnel were deployed to assist in evacuating the premises safely.

Local media reported significant property damage to the manufacturing unit, particularly in the mobile phone section. However, no severe injuries have been reported. Three employees, who experienced respiratory issues from smoke inhalation, were taken to a private hospital for treatment and are in stable condition.

A spokesperson for Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) confirmed the fire at the Hosur plant, stating that emergency protocols were swiftly followed, ensuring the safety of all employees. The company is conducting an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, and TEPL has assured that they will take all necessary precautions to safeguard their workforce and stakeholders.

As of now, the cause of the fire is unknown, and investigations are underway to determine how the fire started. Officials are closely examining the affected areas and will implement preventive measures to avoid future incidents.

Despite the chaos, the evacuation process was smooth, and no major injuries were reported. The swift response by the fire brigade and local authorities ensured that the damage was limited to property, with all workers safely evacuated from the site.
