HCAH , Aroa Biosurgery Collaborate for Innovative Wound Care Initiative

HCAH, a prominent provider of out-of-hospital healthcare services in India, has partnered with Aroa Biosurgery, a leading New Zealand-based company specializing in soft-tissue regeneration, to launch a comprehensive wound care initiative aimed at enhancing patient recovery.

This collaboration is marked by the introduction of the ‘WOW (Warriors of Woundcare) Nurses’ program, which focuses on preventing and effectively treating bedsores, a common challenge in healthcare settings.

Bedsores, or pressure ulcers, significantly hinder patient recovery by causing pain and discomfort and increasing the risk of severe infections. To address this issue, the ‘WOW Nurses’ program will provide specialized training in advanced wound care techniques. The nurses involved will be certified in cutting-edge wound management practices, helping to reduce recovery times and improve patient outcomes. The initiative also underscores HCAH’s commitment to elevating care standards by equipping its nursing staff with the latest knowledge and best practices.

According to Vivek Srivastava, Founder and CEO of HCAH, the program aims to position nurses as champions of wound care, ensuring a superior patient experience. “Our goal is zero bedsores, and the introduction of ‘WOW Nurses’ is a critical step toward this objective,” he stated. A recent study highlighted that 64 percent of pressure ulcer cases were grade 2, with 62% of patients showing significant improvement following targeted care interventions, underlining the need for timely and specialized treatment.

Aroa Biosurgery will support the initiative by introducing innovative products designed to enhance the healing of complex wounds, including those resulting from vascular and diabetic conditions. Dr. Patrick Hunt, Director of Business Development at Aroa Biosurgery, expressed his support for the program, emphasizing the importance of specialized training to optimize wound care and ensure effective use of nursing resources. Aroa Biosurgery’s technologies, such as Endoform and Myriad, aim to reduce the time, cost, and effort required for wound care, thereby improving overall healthcare efficiency.

The collaboration marks a significant advancement in redefining patient care standards in India and beyond, setting new benchmarks for comprehensive and patient-centered healthcare.
