Amazon has onboarded Gulshan Verma as the new Director for its Amazon Ads division. Verma, a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience across advertising, technology sales, strategy, and digital media, announced his new role via a LinkedIn post.
Prior to joining Amazon Ads, Verma held the position of Chief Executive Officer at JioAds for nearly four years, where he spearheaded the platform’s business operations encompassing connectivity, content, and commerce.
Verma’s extensive career also includes a significant stint at Disney+ Hotstar, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Advertising. In this role, he was instrumental in scaling Hotstar’s ad business, overseeing sales, strategy, ad operations, AdTech and data partnerships, branded content (Hotstar Brand Lab), and customer marketing.
Before his time at Disney+ Hotstar, Verma was the Chief Revenue Officer at Times Internet, managing monetization across a diverse portfolio of digital products. His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Outbrain, Komli Media, Yahoo India, Ernst & Young, and McKinsey & Company, showcasing his deep understanding of the digital ecosystem.
With his proven track record in building and scaling advertising businesses, Verma is expected to play a crucial role in driving the growth of Amazon Ads in the Indian market, leveraging Amazon’s strong e-commerce, video, and audio presence to offer effective marketing solutions for brands.
