Comedian Samay Raina Questioned by Guwahati Police Over ‘India’s Got Latent’ Controversy

In a significant development related to the controversy surrounding the YouTube show “India’s Got Latent,” comedian Samay Raina recently appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch for questioning. The case, which involves allegations of promoting obscenity and engaging in vulgar discussions, has drawn attention to several prominent YouTubers and social media influencers.

On February 10, 2025, the Guwahati Police registered an FIR against Samay Raina and other notable figures, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, and Ranveer Allahbadia. The case pertains to allegedly objectionable content featured in an episode of “India’s Got Latent,” which sparked widespread criticism on social media.

Samay Raina initially informed the Guwahati Police that he would be unable to appear for questioning due to his international comedy tour commitments. Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Makhija, also named in the FIR, have appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch to record their statements. Rakesh Sawant, another participant in the show, was summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell and recorded her statement on February 27.
