With Coldplay scheduled to perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025, the concert has attracted millions of fans vying for a limited number of tickets. However, the emergence of fraudulent ticket sales has raised concerns among concert-goers.
According to BookMyShow, unauthorized resellers like Viagogo and Gigsberg, along with certain third-party individuals, have been advertising fake tickets for Coldplay’s concert, leading to confusion and potential scams. The company firmly emphasized that it has no affiliation with these platforms or resellers, urging fans to purchase tickets only from verified sources on the BookMyShow platform, PTI reported from Mumbai.
In a statement, BookMyShow condemned ticket scalping—where tickets are bulk-purchased and resold at inflated prices—and warned consumers of the risks associated with buying tickets from unauthorized vendors. Scalping is punishable by law in India, and the platform has assured full cooperation with police authorities to combat these illegal activities.
BookMyShow has encouraged fans to exercise caution and refrain from purchasing tickets from unverified sources, as such tickets may turn out to be fake, leading to loss of both money and entry to the event. The company has pledged to continue efforts to prevent such fraudulent activities from affecting the much-anticipated Coldplay concert in Mumbai.
This complaint follows a growing trend of ticket scams in India’s event space, highlighting the need for stronger measures to protect consumers.
