Bharti AXA Life Insurance today announced the nationwide launch of its flagship apprenticeship program, BIMA BHARTI, under the Government of India’s National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), a key initiative introduced in the Union Budget 2025.
This significant program is designed to provide undergraduates and graduates with crucial skill-development opportunities, paving the way for promising careers within the burgeoning insurance sector and contributing to national youth employability.
Aligning with the government’s skilling mission, Bharti AXA Life Insurance has already onboarded 200 apprentices and is set to recruit an additional 600 apprentices, bringing the total to 800 apprentices from across the country. Notably, BIMA BHARTI has a strong emphasis on fostering gender diversity within the industry by specifically aiming to hire more women, thereby narrowing the existing gender gap and preparing young talent for sustainable and impactful roles in insurance.
The BIMA BHARTI program will offer apprenticeships in a diverse range of roles, including marketing, business development, customer service, and recruitment, providing a holistic understanding of the insurance business.
Dhanashree Thakkar, Head-Human Resources and Distribution Training, Bharti AXA Life Insurance, commented on the launch, stating, “By aligning with the government’s apprenticeship schemes, we aim to empower the youth, foster career growth, and build a future-ready workforce that will drive excellence in our services. Our tailor-made onboarding and mentoring programmes will equip young talent for impactful roles.”
The launch of BIMA BHARTI underscores Bharti AXA Life’s commitment to contributing meaningfully to the Government of India’s vision of youth empowerment and skill development. Furthermore, the apprentices will be eligible for performance-based incentives, offering them the opportunity to increase their earnings during the 6-month program. Upon successful completion of the six-month apprenticeship, participants will receive a certification from the Government of India, which holds nationwide recognition across employment exchanges.
