Ambika Khurana, former head of regulatory and public policy at Netflix India, has joined Vodafone Idea (Vi) as Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer, effective September 23. Khurana, who brings over 25 years of experience in government relations and regulatory compliance, takes over the role previously held by P. Balaji, who moved to Air India in January.
Vi announced Khurana’s appointment in the wake of a major development—a $3.6 billion network equipment deal with Nokia, Ericsson, and Samsung. This agreement, part of a broader $6.6 billion capital expenditure program, aims to boost 4G coverage and lay the foundation for 5G services in key markets over the next three years.
Khurana’s role at Vi will involve leading regulatory and corporate affairs as the telecom giant accelerates its digital transformation and next-generation network rollout.
