AIFF Partners with Shrachi Sports and Sony for Football Events Broadcast Deal

In a significant boost to Indian football, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has signed a landmark agreement with Shrachi Sports Endeavour Private Limited for the commercial production and broadcasting of its premier competitions. This deal encompasses the 2024-25 season and aims to elevate the visibility and reach of football in India.

Key Highlights of the Agreement
The deal involves the production and broadcasting of 338 matches across various competitions, including:

  • I-League: 132 matches, with 110 broadcast live on Sony Sports Network.
  • Indian Women’s League (IWL): Promoting women’s football.
  • Santosh Trophy: The prestigious Senior National Championship for men.
  • Rajmata Jijabai Trophy: The Senior Women’s National Championship.

The matches will also be streamed on the SSEN app, providing easy access for viewers.

AIFF Secretary General Anilkumar Prabhakaran highlighted the importance of this partnership, emphasizing the exposure it would provide to Indian football at both national and international levels.
Rahul Todi, Managing Director at Shrachi Sports, called the partnership “historic,” expressing confidence in its potential to showcase talent through high-quality HD content and grow India’s sports ecosystem.

The agreement comes in the wake of a broadcasting impasse that threatened the start of the I-League’s 18th edition on November 23, 2024. Participating clubs, under the I-League Clubs Association banner, had demanded clarity on the official broadcaster. The AIFF’s last-minute assurance of Sony Network’s involvement prevented a potential standoff, ensuring the league’s timely commencement.

This collaboration is a pivotal moment for Indian football, providing players with a platform to shine and fans with enhanced viewing experiences. With an increased focus on both men’s and women’s leagues, the partnership reflects a growing commitment to strengthening India’s football ecosystem.

The AIFF-Shrachi Sports-Sony partnership marks a new era for Indian football. By improving access and visibility, it paves the way for nurturing talent and fostering a football culture across the nation.
