Prasar Bharati, India’s public service broadcaster, is seeking qualified and experienced professionals to fill two critical whole-time positions on its Board: Member (Finance) and Member (Personnel). The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), Government of India, issued a recruitment notice on June 20, 2025, inviting applications from eligible individuals for these high-profile roles.
These positions carry the pay and pay scale equivalent to an Additional Secretary to the Government of India, specifically Level-15 in the Pay Matrix of the 7th Central Pay Commission (₹67,000 – ₹79,000: 6th CPC pre-revised).
Both Member (Finance) and Member (Personnel) will serve as Whole-time Members of the Prasar Bharati Board. As per the Prasar Bharati Act, 1990, the Member (Finance) will be solely responsible for all financial matters concerning the Corporation, while the Member (Personnel) will oversee all human resources and personnel-related functions. The Prasar Bharati Board, headed by the Chairman, holds the overall superintendence, direction, and control of the Corporation’s affairs.
The appointed individuals will hold office for a term of six years from their date of joining, or until they attain the age of sixty-two years, whichever comes earlier. These appointments are made by the President of India based on the recommendations of a committee chaired by the Hon’ble Vice-President of India.

The Ministry has specified that suitable candidates from various backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including:
- Officers at the level of Additional Secretary/Senior Joint Secretary to the Government of India.
- Officers equivalent to the level of Additional Secretary/Senior Joint Secretary working in reputed Public Sector Enterprises/Autonomous Bodies/Statutory Organisations.
- Candidates from the private sector with a strong academic record (preferably an MBA in Finance Management for the Member (Finance) post) and adequate post-qualification experience at a senior management level in a large, reputable organization.
