Nitin Burman Appointed Group CRO at Balaji Telefilms

Balaji Telefilms has appointed Nitin Burman as its new Group Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Burman brings over a decade of expertise in digital media, telecom, and entertainment, making him an invaluable addition to the company’s leadership team.


Before joining Balaji Telefilms, Burman held various senior roles at aha, a regional OTT platform, where his strategic insights contributed to the platform’s significant growth. Initially joining as AVP – Brand Solutions in May 2021, he managed national brand solutions and creative services. Burman’s proficiency in non-subscription revenue streams such as branded content, AVOD, and intellectual property (IP) monetization led to his rapid career progression. By November 2022, he was promoted to Vice President and Head of Non-Subscription Revenue, and later served as Senior Vice President, further solidifying his leadership in digital media revenue.


Burman’s career spans several industries. Prior to aha, he worked at Radio Mirchi, where he was responsible for Maharashtra’s revenue operations. His telecom career includes leadership positions at Airtel, where he headed 4G marketing, and at Jio, where he led strategy and acquisitions for large enterprise and campus stores. He also began his career in sales and distribution at Citibank.


At Balaji Telefilms, Burman’s appointment aligns with the company’s growing focus on enhancing its revenue model across multiple platforms, including its expanding OTT presence. With his diverse background and proven success in digital and telecom sectors, Burman is expected to play a key role in driving revenue growth and brand expansion for Balaji Telefilms.
