During the event in Mumbai, the 51-year-old reminisced about scoring his first official century for Mumbai in Baroda when he was just a teenager, approximately 38 years ago.
“Not many guys present in this room would know that the first hundred I scored for Mumbai in any official tournament, at any age group, happened in Baroda,” Tendulkar shared with the audience, as reported by PTI. He reflected on his early cricketing journey, mentioning his initial selection for Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad, despite not having a chance to play in Baroda during that time.
Tendulkar recalled an unforgettable visit to the palace of Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the Maharaja of Baroda, which coincided with his inclusion in the Mumbai Ranji team. He also noted having played against former Baroda player Samarjit Gaekwad, further solidifying his connection with the city.
