Dream11 Launches ‘Poora Fan Bano’ Campaign Ahead of Women’s Cricket World Cup 2024

As the excitement builds for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2024, fantasy sports platform Dream11 has rolled out an innovative advertising campaign titled “Poora Fan Bano.” This initiative aims to rally cricket enthusiasts to support the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, emphasizing that genuine fans embrace all facets of the game, regardless of the players’ gender.

The “Poora Fan Bano” campaign features a tongue-in-cheek series of advertisements starring prominent figures from Indian cricket, including Rohit Sharma, captain of the men’s team, alongside Harmanpreet Kaur, the women’s team captain, and talented batters Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues. These ads cleverly portray the contrast between “Aadha” (half) fans, who focus solely on men’s cricket, and “Poora” (whole) fans, who wholeheartedly support both genders in the sport.

Digital content creators Aakash Gupta, Ravi Gupta, and RJ Kisna portray fans in the advertisements, which deliver a humorous yet impactful message: true supporters should cheer for the Women’s Cricket Team, especially with the T20 World Cup approaching​.

Vikrant Mudaliar, Chief Marketing Officer of Dream Sports and Dream11, articulated the campaign’s purpose, stating, “With Poora Fan Bano, we’re encouraging fans to embrace the full spectrum of Indian cricket. We strongly believe that the talent and dedication of both our men’s and women’s teams deserve equal support. We hope this campaign inspires cricket lovers nationwide to cheer for the Women’s Cricket Team, reinforcing our belief that sports truly is for everyone”​.

The campaign consists of engaging interactions between fans and the women players, blending situational comedy with key reminders from Rohit Sharma about the importance of supporting women’s cricket. Dream11 is not only promoting the campaign through ads but is also significantly involved in the cricket ecosystem. The platform serves as a co-presenting sponsor on Star Sports and an associate sponsor on Disney+ Hotstar for the live broadcast of the T20 World Cup​.

Since 2023, Dream11 has established itself as a lead sponsor for Team India, covering both men’s and women’s national cricket teams, solidifying its long-standing relationship with the BCCI​.
