ZeroMoblt Secures ₹1.5 Crore Pre-Seed Round to Revolutionize Student Mobility

In a major boost for India’s specialized transportation sector, Hyderabad-based startup ZeroMoblt has raised ₹1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was co-led by Sandeep Varaganti (CEO of JioMart) and Ashok Agrawal (SVP at Axis Bank), with participation from a group of high-net-worth individuals (HNIs). This fresh capital infusion is earmarked for the development of the company’s AI-native technology stack and the expansion of its operational footprint across India’s major educational hubs.

Founded in April 2024 by Vijay Ganagam and Alfred Lazarus, ZeroMoblt is tackling long-standing safety and efficiency gaps in student transit. The startup offers an integrated platform that combines logistics, real-time tracking, safety monitoring, and subscription-based services. By utilizing Edge AI for decentralized intelligence, the company provides real-time safety alerts and automated compliance monitoring, ensuring a secure “campus-to-home” experience for students and peace of mind for parents.

ZeroMoblt is positioning itself as a “compliance-first” infrastructure layer rather than a simple transport service. The startup’s core architecture focuses on intelligent route optimization and a unified app ecosystem that bridges the gap between educational institutions and transport providers. Having already won the prestigious UpStart 2025 pitching event at IIT Kanpur, the startup is quickly becoming a recognized name in the deep-tech mobility space.

The company’s impressive early-stage traction includes:

  • Operational Reach: Successfully completed over 3.4 lakh student trips across 147 pincodes in Hyderabad.
  • Institutional Partners: Established deep integrations with over 15 educational institutions to manage their daily transit logistics.
  • Fleet Capacity: Operates a network of more than 3,000 verified vehicles, all maintaining 100% regulatory compliance.

With the new funding, ZeroMoblt is set to expand its “student-first” model to six additional major cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. The expansion strategy includes scaling campus partnerships and increasing fleet capacity to meet the rising demand for organized student travel.

CEO Vijay Ganagam noted that student mobility has remained “structurally unchanged for decades,” and ZeroMoblt aims to change this by building a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for student life. By focusing on interoperable and orchestrated systems, the startup is not just moving students but is building a data-sovereign trust ecosystem that modernizes the entire education-logistics lifecycle in urban India.

Key Highlights:

  • Funding Milestone: ZeroMoblt raised ₹1.5 crore in a pre-seed round led by JioMart CEO Sandeep Varaganti and other prominent angel investors.
  • Tech-Led Safety: The startup uses Edge AI and decentralized intelligence to provide real-time tracking, route optimization, and 100% compliance for student transportation.
  • Proven Traction: Based in Hyderabad, the company has already completed 3.4 lakh trips and partnered with over 15 institutions using a 3,000-vehicle fleet.
  • Expansion Plans: The capital will fuel expansion into Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai, aiming to build a scalable AI-native infrastructure for the Indian education sector.
