Vicky Kaushal has been cast as Chiranjeevi Parashurama, the “eternal warrior of dharma,” in Maddock Films’ upcoming mythological epic Mahavatar. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik of Stree 2 fame, promises a fresh and cinematic exploration of Indian mythology. The much-anticipated movie is scheduled for a Christmas 2026 release.
The first-look poster, released by Maddock Films, shows Kaushal in a powerful avatar as Parashurama, a legendary warrior committed to upholding dharma. The announcement was made via Maddock’s social media channels, with Dinesh Vijan bringing the story of Parashurama to life.
In addition to Mahavatar, Kaushal is also set to star in Chhaava, a historical drama where he plays Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava is set for release on December 6, 2024, and also features Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna.
