Streambox Media Launches Dor: India’s Affordable Smart TV Revolution

Streambox Media, in partnership with Micromax Informatics, Nikhil Kamath, and Stride Ventures, has introduced Dor, a subscription-based smart television service aimed at reshaping home entertainment in India. Set to launch on December 1, 2024, Dor promises an integrated viewing experience by combining premium hardware with an expansive content ecosystem.

Dor combines a 4K QLED TV with a subscription model that includes access to over 24 OTT platforms, 300+ live TV channels, gaming options, and news. The service’s proprietary Dor TV OS ensures seamless navigation, AI-powered content discovery, and hyper-personalization, eliminating the need for multiple subscriptions and devices.

Key features of the 43-inch Dor QLED TV include:

  • 4K Ultra HD Resolution: Stunning visuals for an immersive experience.
  • Dolby Audio: Enhanced sound clarity and depth.
  • Solar-Powered Remote Control: Eco-friendly and convenient.
  • Companion App: Control and manage settings directly from your smartphone.

Rahul Sharma, Co-Founder of Micromax, remarked, “Dor captures the evolving consumer trend of renting over owning, making premium entertainment accessible and affordable for all.”

The subscription pricing for Dor is designed to democratize access to premium content:

  • Activation Fee: Rs. 10,799 (includes the first month of service).
  • Monthly Subscription: Rs. 799/month for the first 12 months.
  • Post-12 Months: Users can switch to flexible, customized plans.

The service includes a four-year warranty, continuous software upgrades, and advanced security features, ensuring longevity and a future-ready experience.

Streambox Media plans to launch 55-inch and 65-inch Dor TV variants in early 2025 to cater to a wider audience. Anuj Gandhi, Founder and CEO of Streambox Media, noted:
“With the number of connected TV households expected to double in five years, Dor bridges the gap between affordability and premium entertainment.”

Romil Ramgarhia, COO of Streambox Media, highlighted that Dor’s consolidated offering reduces costs by 50–60% compared to traditional setups, redefining affordability in India’s competitive smart TV market.

Dor’s entry into the market represents a significant leap in making advanced technology and diverse content accessible to Indian households. By merging hardware, content, and affordability, Streambox Media is set to revolutionize the way India consumes entertainment.
