Saregama India Limited has successfully acquired a majority stake in Pocket Aces Pictures Private Limited for ₹127.47 crores, increasing its ownership to 90.37%. This acquisition, finalized on March 29, 2025, is part of Saregama’s strategy to bolster its presence in the digital content landscape.

The recent transaction follows Saregama’s initial investment in November 2023, when it purchased a 51.8% stake for ₹166 crores. The latest deal involved acquiring 2,70,427 securities, including equity shares and various series of compulsorily convertible preference shares. This second tranche was executed as per the terms outlined in the Investment Agreement and Shareholders’ Agreement dated September 28, 2023.

Pocket Aces, a Mumbai-based digital entertainment company founded in 2013, has established itself as a leader in youth-centric content creation. With over 35,000 pieces of content across popular channels such as FilterCopy, Dice Media, Nutshell, and Gobble, the company has garnered a substantial audience base exceeding 175 million followers.

By acquiring a controlling interest in Pocket Aces, Saregama aims to leverage the company’s extensive digital distribution network to enhance its music library’s reach among the highly sought-after 18-35 demographic. The integration of Pocket Aces’ intellectual property (IP) assets with Saregama’s existing catalog will facilitate improved cross-platform engagement and content creation efficiency.

Saregama’s Vice Chairperson Avarna Jain emphasized the importance of this acquisition in diversifying the company’s portfolio. She stated that the company plans to invest ₹1,000 crores over the next three years to expand its music offerings and explore synergies across its various business streams.

Pocket Aces has shown consistent growth over recent years. In the financial year ending March 31, 2024, it reported a turnover of ₹88.59 crores, down from ₹102.67 crores in FY23 but still reflecting a solid performance trajectory in the competitive digital entertainment sector. The company’s revenue figures from previous years further illustrate its robust market presence:

Despite experiencing fluctuations in revenue, Pocket Aces continues to thrive by producing engaging content and managing over 215 digital influencers through its talent management arm, Clout.
