Pratham Mittal Joins Shark Tank India Season 5 as New Judge

Shark Tank India Season 5 is set to feature a fresh face on its panel of “Sharks” with the addition of Pratham Mittal, the founder of Masters’ Union and Tetr College of Business. Known for his disruptive approach to business education, Mittal’s entry signals a major shift in the show’s focus toward student-led entrepreneurship and campus-born ventures.

The upcoming season will introduce a first-of-its-kind “Campus Special” edition, specifically designed to spotlight young founders and college startups.

Pratham Mittal’s appointment comes as a strategic move to tap into India’s growing “campus-to-market” culture. At Masters’ Union, Mittal has already built a robust ecosystem where building a business is the core academic requirement.

  • Active Startups: Over 35 student-led ventures launched in the last year alone.
  • Institutional Funding: ₹1.36 crore in grants provided via the Masters’ Union Investment Fund.
  • Revenue Generation: A combined projected annualized recurring revenue (ARR) of ₹4.32 crore.
  • Expert Guidance: Students benefited from over 4,500 hours of personalized mentorship.

Beyond Indian shores, Mittal has extended this “founder-first” philosophy through the Tetr College of Business. This global undergraduate program requires students to build companies across seven different countries, providing hands-on international market exposure.

The institution recently made headlines after raising $18 million from prominent investors including Owl Ventures and Bertelsmann India Investments. With an extremely selective 2.6% acceptance rate, Tetr currently hosts over 200 students from 50+ countries, reinforcing the idea that entrepreneurship is a viable early-career pathway.

Joining returning favorites like Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta, Pratham Mittal expressed his enthusiasm for the platform’s role as a “public classroom.”

“Shark Tank India has emerged as one of the most influential platforms for entrepreneurship in the country. I am extremely excited to meet college entrepreneurs who are building with intent and ambition,” Mittal shared on social media.

With his background as an alumnus of The Doon School and the University of Pennsylvania, and his experience co-founding the SaaS platform Outgrow, Mittal is expected to bring a “practitioner-first” perspective to the negotiation table, focusing on long-term value and execution.
