In a significant leadership transition, Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL) has announced the appointment of Sunil Kataria as the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director-Designate, effective May 5, 2025.
Kataria is set to succeed Balram Singh Yadav, who has been re-appointed as Managing Director until August 31, 2025.
Sunil Kataria, a seasoned business leader with over 30 years of experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), telecom, and retail sectors, will assume the role of CEO & Managing Director from September 1, 2025, for a five-year term ending on August 31, 2030, subject to shareholder approval.
Prior to this, Kataria served as the Managing Director of Raymond Lifestyle Limited and as the CEO of India & SAARC for Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL).
Balram Singh Yadav has been with the Godrej Group since 1990 and has served as the Managing Director of GAVL since 2009. Under his leadership, the company achieved significant milestones, including a highly oversubscribed public offering in 2017.
Yadav is also credited with establishing prominent poultry brands like “Real Good Chicken” and “Yummiez.”
This leadership transition marks a strategic move for GAVL, aiming to leverage Kataria’s extensive experience to drive the company’s growth in the agribusiness sector.
