Following a spectacular debut that drew over 30,000 fans, Kolkata Comic Con is officially returning for its second edition on April 11 and 12, 2026. The 13th edition of Comic Con India will take over the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, solidifying the “City of Joy” as a premier hub for comics, anime, cosplay, and gaming in the Global South.
Presented by Maruti Suzuki Arena and powered by Crunchyroll, the event is part of a nationwide 2025–2026 season expansion that includes cities like Kochi, Pune, and Jaipur. The inaugural Kolkata show last year proved that the city’s deep-rooted literary heritage translates perfectly into modern fandom, creating a unique space where local cultural icons meet global superheroes.
Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, noted that storytelling is ingrained in Kolkata’s everyday life. He emphasized that the convention serves as a bridge between tradition and contemporary pop culture. Shefali Johnson, CEO of Comic Con India, echoed this sentiment, stating that the city’s passionate cosplay community and love for narratives made Kolkata an essential stop on the national circuit.
Attendees can look forward to a packed schedule featuring:
- Indian Championship of Cosplay: Local cosplayers will compete for a chance to represent the region at the national level.
- Gaming Zones: Interactive arenas featuring the latest in esports and tabletop gaming.
- Creator Meet-and-Greets: Sessions with both Indian and international comic book artists, writers, and illustrators.
- Experiential Zones: Innovative installations from partners like Maruti Suzuki Arena and the Crunchyroll anime haven.
The event also features live performances, stand-up comedy, and exclusive merchandise shopping. Passes for the two-day extravaganza are now available exclusively on the District app by Zomato.
