JioStar to Broadcast Pro Kabaddi League S12 in Eight Languages

In a major move to deepen its connection with audiences and elevate the fan experience, JioStar, the official broadcast and digital partner of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), has announced a host of new features for Season 12. Starting August 29, 2025, the league will be presented with new languages, innovative broadcast technology, and a refreshed competition format.

For the first time in its history, the Pro Kabaddi League will be broadcast in eight languages, expanding its reach into the sport’s heartlands. The new additions, Bhojpuri and Haryanvi, will complement the existing feeds in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. The Bhojpuri commentary will be headlined by Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishan, while the Haryanvi feed will feature former U-Mumba champion Mohit Chhillar, bringing the game closer to its core fan base.

To provide a more immersive experience for viewers, JioStar is introducing several cutting-edge broadcast innovations:

  • Referee Cam: This groundbreaking feature will offer a unique, first-person perspective of the action on the mat, switching between live play and bodycam angles.
  • Dugout Views: Two new cameras will be positioned in the team dugouts to capture the raw energy, tension, and strategic huddles on the sidelines, offering a deeper look into the teams’ mindsets.
  • Split-Screen: A new split-screen feature will allow fans to simultaneously watch the live action on the mat and the revival sequences on the bench.

Beyond the broadcast, the on-field competition itself has been revamped. Matches ending in a tie during the league phase will now go into tie-breakers, ensuring every game has a definitive result. A new ‘play-in’ phase has also been introduced to the playoffs to add more intensity and high-stakes matches.

The opening match of Season 12 will feature a high-voltage southern derby between Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas on August 29. With these new features, JioStar aims to solidify PKL’s status as India’s second-largest sporting property, offering a richer and more engaging storytelling experience for millions of fans.
