India Film Project (IFP) Returns to Mehboob Studios for 15th Anniversary Edition

India Film Project (IFP), which has evolved from a small idea into the world’s leading festival for ‘Creativity x Culture’, is returning to Mehboob Studios on November 29 and 30 for its milestone 15th anniversary edition. This two-day festival promises a grand celebration filled with performances, workshops, conversations, and creative showcases, honouring years of storytelling and a thriving global creative community.

At the heart of the festival lies its iconic 50 Hour Creative Challenges, which define IFP’s spirit of innovation and artistic exploration. The Season 15 edition witnessed an overwhelming global response, drawing over 40,000 participants from 350 cities and 23 countries.

The challenges spanned six core creative categories:

  • Filmmaking
  • Music
  • Design
  • Photography
  • Writing
  • Performing Arts

Adding prestige to the event, this season’s jury features some of India’s most acclaimed names across cinema, design, and the arts, including:

  • Dibakar Banerjee (National Award-winning Filmmaker)
  • Hariharan (Padma Shri Awardee)
  • Sheeba Chaddha (Versatile Actor)
  • Bilal Siddiqi
  • Santhy Balachandran
  • Ravi Jadhav
  • Kanu Behl
  • Mukesh Chhabra
  • Gajesh Mitkari, among others.

Filmmaking Jury member Dibakar Banerjee shared his enthusiasm, stating, “As a filmmaker, I’ve always believed that cinema must surprise you. Fifteen years in, IFP is continuing the good work in promoting curiosity. That’s what makes it so special.” Actor Sheeba Chaddha highlighted the festival’s nurturing environment: “What I love the most about this festival is how it empowers artists to express and evolve without limits.”

Reflecting on IFP’s fifteen-year journey, Ritam Bhatnagar, Founder of IFP, noted, “What began as a small dormitory idea shared among a few passionate creators has now grown into one of the world’s leading celebrations of creativity and culture… This milestone year is our way of celebrating that journey — from one tiny idea to a global festival that inspires millions.”

Over the past 14 years, IFP has hosted more than 1,400 speakers, seen participation from 1.2 lakh (120,000) creators, and featured representation from eight countries. Previous editions have attracted global icons like Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mira Nair, and Alexander Payne, alongside Indian luminaries such as Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Tripathi, and Javed Akhtar.

This year’s edition promises a dynamic lineup of thought-provoking discussions, immersive experiences, and memorable performances, making it a must-attend event for every creative enthusiast.
