HUL appoints Niranjan Gupta as CFO; succeeds Ritesh Tiwari

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has appointed Niranjan Gupta as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Ritesh Tiwari, who is moving to a global role at Unilever. The change is part of a key leadership transition at the company, with Gupta taking over the responsibilities of Executive Director, Finance, and CFO.

Gupta’s appointment is a homecoming, as he began his career with HUL and spent 20 years in various leadership roles within the company. He will join the HUL Management Committee on September 1, 2025, and will officially take over as CFO on November 1, 2025, subject to necessary approvals. Before returning to HUL, Gupta served as the CEO of Hero MotoCorp and also held a position at Vedanta Limited. His experience spans finance, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain, and strategic roles across diverse industries.

Ritesh Tiwari, the outgoing CFO, will be transitioning to the role of Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Treasury at Unilever Plc and will be based in London. This move, which is also effective on November 1, is seen as a testament to HUL’s strong leadership development pipeline. The change in leadership comes after the recent appointment of Priya Nair as the new CEO and Managing Director of HUL.
