Heineken Strengthens India Hub: Pradeep Gupta Appointed Head of Legal and Compliance

In a significant move to bolster its governance and regulatory framework in the region, global brewing giant Heineken has appointed Pradeep Gupta as the Head of Legal and Compliance for its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad. Gupta, a seasoned legal veteran with nearly two decades of experience, officially joined the company on February 6, 2026.

Gupta’s appointment comes at a time when Heineken is aggressively expanding its Heineken Business Services India (HBSI) unit. As the newly appointed legal lead, his mandate involves leading the legal, compliance, corporate secretarial, privacy, and risk management functions. He will be responsible for shaping the GCC’s governance framework, ensuring it aligns with Heineken’s global “EverGreen” strategy focused on productivity and future-readiness.

Before joining the world’s second-largest brewer, Pradeep Gupta spent nearly ten years at DBS Bank. Most recently, he served as the Company Secretary and Head – Legal & Compliance at DBS Tech India, where he was instrumental in scaling the organization from its inception to a workforce of over 4,000 employees.

His professional journey includes senior leadership roles at:

  • MetLife: Managing global capability center compliance.
  • R1 RCM (formerly Accretive): Overseeing regulatory affairs and corporate governance.
  • Aviva & Roulac Global Funds: Building deep expertise in taxation and multinational regulatory practices.

Gupta’s move reflects the broader trend of India transforming into the world’s largest GCC hub. With over 1,800 GCCs currently operating in the country, experts project the market will reach $110 billion by 2030. Heineken’s decision to hire a veteran like Gupta—who holds an LL.B. from Delhi University and a PG Diploma in Cyber Laws from NALSAR—signals its commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and a “business-first” risk mindset in this high-growth environment.

“I look forward to building future-ready legal and compliance capabilities from India,” Gupta stated regarding his new role. “Our goal is to enable business growth while strengthening the trust and governance that underpins Heineken’s global operations.”

Key Highlights:
