The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced a major initiative to boost capital inflow into India’s creative sector: the launch of the first-ever CII Global Media and Entertainment (M&E) Investor Meet. The event will be held during the 12th BIG Picture Summit on December 1 and 2, 2025, in Mumbai, aiming to accelerate global investments and unlock new opportunities across the country’s rapidly evolving M&E landscape.
Developed in collaboration with WAVES Bazaar, this new initiative is a strategic effort to transition the Indian M&E industry from relying solely on private passion and domestic capital to attracting significant global financing.
- Investment Partners: CII has appointed Elara Capital as the Investment Partner and Vitrina as the Global Financing Partner for the Investor Meet.
- WAVES Bazaar Integration: WAVES Bazaar, known for its B2B networking and project pitching, will be integrated into the CII Marketplace at the summit. It will showcase a curated range of high-potential projects from its own slate as well as from the WAVES Film Bazaar.
The Investor Meet is designed to serve as a unique platform for curated one-on-one interactions between global investors and promising Indian ventures spanning key M&E segments, including film, streaming, gaming, animation, VFX, and live entertainment.
The 12th BIG Picture Summit, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), is themed “The AI Era: Bridging Creativity & Commerce.” This theme reflects the industry’s focus on technological integration and commercial growth.
The summit will feature participation from top policymakers and industry leaders, including Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, MIB; Gaurav Banerjee, MD & CEO, Sony Pictures Networks India; Rajan Navani, CEO, Jet Synthesys; and Gunjan Soni, Country Managing Director, YouTube India.
Shibashish Sarkar, Chairman of the CII Global M&E Investor Summit, emphasized the importance of this shift: “CII’s Investor Meet is a major step to change that… This summit is not just a generic expo but a true matchmaking event aimed at showcasing Indian companies as viable, exciting investments.”
The BIG Picture Summit remains one of India’s most prominent gatherings for M&E stakeholders. This year, the CII Marketplace and WAVES Bazaar will jointly host exclusive B2B meetings to facilitate co-productions and content partnerships. Furthermore, participation from WAVEX and WAVES Creatosphere will establish dedicated zones for startups and innovation-led collaborations.
This landmark Investor Meet is poised to be a foundational step in scaling up India’s creative economy and positioning its M&E sector on the global investment map.
