On World No Tobacco Day 2025, BIG FM successfully wrapped up the third season of its acclaimed public service campaign, ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’. Under the theme ‘When you quit smoking, good things start to happen,’ this season pushed beyond mere awareness, focusing on transforming the intention to quit tobacco into tangible action by providing dedicated support and healing pathways.
At the core of this year’s initiative was ‘Quitsvilla’, a meticulously curated three-day on-ground wellness retreat held at The Fern Shelter Resort in Palghar, the campaign’s official Hospitality Partner. This nurturing environment brought together individuals who had pledged to quit tobacco, offering them a space for self-reflection, therapeutic sessions, and personal growth.
The retreat, supported by Dewon Electric, featured a diverse range of healing experiences. Participants engaged in Sound Therapy led by Sarita Pataodia, Dance Movement Therapy by Shruti Ganesh and Shruti Suvarna of Ang Tarang, Music Healing by Sujataa Chakraborty, Zumba sessions with celebrity coach Aishwarya, and Laughter Yoga with Kishore Kuvavala. Motivational Illusions by Mangesh Desai also provided an inspiring touch. The sessions were expertly anchored by BIG FM’s popular RJs — RJ Vrajesh, RJ Rani, RJ Abhilash, and RJ Dilip — who guided the emotional and therapeutic energy of the event. A particular highlight was a talk by Vinay Rao, Executive Director of Dewon Electric, whose personal insights deeply resonated with the participants.
Beyond the immersive retreat, the campaign’s digital and on-air extensions significantly amplified its reach. A compelling podcast series, hosted by RJ Sahil and RJ Dilip, featured inspiring stories of individuals who had successfully overcome tobacco addiction. These episodes were further enriched by expert discussions on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and actionable wellness advice from thought leaders such as Rajyogi BK Nikunj and Ashdin Doctor (The Habit Coach™). Adding celebrity power, well-known entertainment personalities including Tusshar Kapoor, Papon, Sulaiman Merchant, Shankar Mahadevan, and Emraan Hashmi lent their voices, urging audiences across platforms to commit to a smoke-free life.
Sunil Kumaran, COO, BIG FM, articulated the campaign’s deeper mission: “This campaign has always been about more than just quitting a habit. ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ Season 3 is about giving people the belief that change is possible and providing them with the support to see it through. Through initiatives like Quitsvilla and meaningful content across platforms, we’ve helped people connect with their own strength.”
The campaign generated massive engagement across both radio and digital channels. With impactful reels, RJ-led storytelling, and a catchy original jingle, ‘Sutta Chhod De Na Yaar’ Season 3 successfully moved beyond simply raising awareness, igniting a broader movement. It effectively combined science, emotion, and entertainment to underscore that quitting tobacco is not merely an individual effort but a shared journey of transformation and collective support.
