Global logistics giant DP World and the beloved Delhi Capitals cricket team have joined forces to launch a powerful new campaign film that transcends the boundaries of sport. This stirring cinematic piece goes beyond the excitement of the game, delving into the profound and transformative impact cricket has on individuals and communities across India.

Unveiled just recently, the film is a heartfelt celebration of how cricket acts as a catalyst for positive change, opening doors to opportunities and fostering a spirit of unity and inclusivity. It’s not just about sixes and wickets; it’s about the dreams it ignites and the lives it touches in the vibrant tapestry of India.

Star Power Meets Grassroots Impact

The campaign film boasts an impressive lineup of cricketing luminaries, both from the men’s and women’s circuits. Global stars such as KL Rahul, Faf du Plessis, and Mitchell Starc lend their voices and presence to the narrative, alongside inspiring women cricketers like Meg Lanning, Alice Capsey, and Sarah Bryce. Their collective involvement underscores the universal appeal and unifying power of cricket.

Set against the authentic backdrop of local neighborhoods throughout India, the film vividly captures DP World’s deep-rooted commitment to making cricket more accessible at the grassroots level. This initiative, known as the “Beyond Boundaries Initiative,” aims to nurture local talent and foster a sense of belonging through the sport.

One of the most captivating aspects of the campaign film is a standout scene featuring young, aspiring cricketers experiencing a unique mentorship opportunity. Through innovative life-sized holographic projections of their cricketing idols, these budding talents receive guidance and inspiration, blending cutting-edge technology with the raw passion for the game. This powerful imagery symbolizes the fusion of dreams and possibilities that cricket ignites.

Hemant Kumar Ruia, Executive Vice President and Head of DP World India, emphasized the core message of the campaign, stating, “Our partnership with Delhi Capitals reflects a shared commitment to enabling this access, nurturing local talent, and fostering a spirit of inclusion. This film captures our unifying purpose, showcasing how we are supporting cricketing talent at the grassroots level, while building relationships that matter, both on and off the field.”  

This campaign film is the latest testament to DP World’s ongoing “Beyond Boundaries Initiative,” launched in 2023. As part of this global effort, DP World is converting 50 repurposed shipping containers into fully equipped cricket facilities for grassroots clubs worldwide. Each container is stocked with professional-grade cricket kits, including bats, helmets, gloves, pads, and kit bags. Recognizing the diverse needs of local communities, these containers are also designed to be multipurpose, serving as pavilions and dressing rooms.  

Since its inception, the initiative has already seen the rollout of five repurposed containers across key Indian cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi, along with the distribution of 1,250 cricket kits to aspiring young players in India. In 2024, the Delhi Capitals team actively supported the unveiling of containers in Delhi, further solidifying the commitment to bringing the game closer to communities and nurturing the next generation of cricketing talent.
