Amazon Ads Unveils AI-Powered Video Generator for Advertisers

Amazon Ads has introduced a groundbreaking feature, the Video generator, which leverages generative AI technology to streamline the creation of engaging video ads for brands. This innovative tool allows advertisers to produce visually rich video content within minutes and at no extra cost. By utilizing just a single product image, the Video generator crafts custom AI-generated videos that highlight a product’s unique selling points, drawing on Amazon’s extensive insights to vividly narrate product stories.

The introduction of the Video generator is part of Amazon’s expanding suite of generative AI tools, which also includes a new live image capability. This feature facilitates the rapid creation of animated campaign images, catering to the evolving needs of advertisers. The live image functionality is integrated into the existing Image generator, developed in response to feedback from advertisers and data from the industry.

According to a study by animated video production company Wyzowl, 89% of consumers expressed a desire to see more video content from brands in 2024. However, many businesses cite time and cost as significant barriers to implementing effective video marketing strategies.

Jay Richman, VP of Product and Technology for Amazon Ads, emphasized that the Video generator represents a significant advancement in generative AI, aimed at enhancing creativity and delivering added value to both advertisers and consumers. Currently, both the Video generator and live image features are in beta testing for select advertisers in the U.S., with plans for further refinement before a broader rollout.
