SonyLIV is set to bring the epic saga of the legendary warrior king, Prithviraj Chauhan, to its platform starting June 4th. This historical series, titled “Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan,” promises to delve deep into the valor, military strategies, and patriotism of the 12th-century ruler, offering a comprehensive portrayal beyond his well-known romance with Princess Sanyogita.
According to Abhimanyu Singh, Founder & CEO of Contiloe Pictures, the series aims to highlight Prithviraj Chauhan’s journey from a child king who ascended the throne at the young age of 12 to a formidable leader who defended his motherland against invaders like Muhammad Ghori. Singh emphasized that while past portrayals often focused on his love story, this series will showcase his unmatched courage and strategic acumen in the face of immense responsibility.
Narrated by Ashutosh Rana, who also plays the role of the poet-historian Chand Bardai, a close confidant of Prithviraj, the series will explore the principles of duty, compassion, and patriotism that guided the young king’s leadership. Rana described Prithviraj as a true king deeply devoted to his people and country, highlighting his strategic mind and unwavering resolve against invaders.
“Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan” will premiere on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV from June 4th onwards, airing Monday to Friday at 7:30 PM.
