Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), has launched its first campaign film for Season 11, featuring Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh. The campaign, released ahead of the league’s commencement on October 18, 2024, captures the raw intensity of Kabaddi through visually striking and action-packed sequences.
In the film, Deshmukh is portrayed as a lone warrior navigating a wild jungle, metaphorically showcasing the agility, speed, and mental resilience required by Kabaddi players, much like the predatory instincts of a tiger. The promo emphasizes that each move in Kabaddi is crucial, where every decision can determine the outcome of the game.
The film’s dramatic visuals are accompanied by an evocative soundtrack, building excitement for what promises to be one of the most thrilling PKL seasons. Star Sports, along with Mashal Sports, has also launched the fan-engagement campaign ‘Define Your Team’s Superpower,’ allowing fans to vote on the strengths of their favorite teams. The campaign has seen massive fan interaction, with over 1.12 million views and 105,000 votes across teams like Puneri Paltan and U Mumba.
PKL Season 11 will adopt a three-city format, starting at the GMC Balayogi Sports Complex in Hyderabad from October 18 to November 9. The second leg will take place in Noida Indoor Stadium from November 10 to December 1, and the final leg will be held at the Badminton Hall, Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune from December 3 to December 24.
