Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has been served with a legal notice regarding the sale of tickets for his upcoming Dil-Luminati concert in Delhi. The controversy began after pre-sale tickets for the concert sold out within minutes of going live on September 12, leaving many fans upset.
A Delhi-based law student, Riddhima Kapoor, has filed the legal notice accusing the event’s organizers of consumer rights violations. She claims the ticket sale window opened earlier than the announced time, leading to an unfair advantage for some buyers. In her complaint, she also alleged that ticket scalping and price manipulation may have contributed to the rapid sell-out, with some tickets potentially being hoarded for resale at inflated prices.
The legal notice references the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, accusing the organizers of engaging in unfair trade practices. Additionally, in light of rising concerns, Delhi Police issued a fraud alert regarding concert ticket scams, warning fans to be cautious when purchasing tickets online.
The controversy hasn’t dampened the buzz surrounding the tour, which kicks off in Delhi on October 26, 2024, before visiting major cities across India.
