12th Fail Premieres at the Supreme Court – A Night of Hope

The biographical film 12th Fail, featuring Vikrant Massey, recently had a special screening at the Supreme Court of India, marking a significant event that resonated with the audience. This screening provided an excellent platform to highlight the film’s profound message about perseverance and determination in overcoming life’s challenges.

Attended by Chief Justice of India (CJI) D Y Chandrachud and over 600 Supreme Court officials and their families, the screening created a unique atmosphere of inspiration. Directed, produced, and written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 12th Fail is based on Anurag Pathak’s non-fiction book that narrates the incredible journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who rose from extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer.

Following the film, an exclusive interaction took place among the CJI, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma, IRS Officer Shraddha Joshi, and lead actors Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar. During this session, Justice Chandrachud expressed the need for motivational stories that can uplift society. He remarked, “We need stories of real people who have shown exemplary motivation by rising above their circumstances… I believe every member of our staff family will be truly inspired.”

Justice Chandrachud complimented Chopra’s portrayal of Sharma’s life, highlighting the film’s emotional depth. He noted, “There were moments in the movie when I thought I’d need a hanky as my eyes were moist. This film conveys such a strong message of hope.” His acknowledgment of the film’s emotional resonance reinforces its potential impact on viewers.

Chopra expressed gratitude for the evening, stating, “This was one of the most pleasant evenings of my life… It was a magical evening.” His dedication over five years in bringing this story to the screen seemed worthwhile, especially being recognized by such esteemed guests.

The film features an impressive cast, including Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee, who all contribute to the film’s heartfelt narrative. Set to release theatrically on October 27, 2023, 12th Fail promises to inspire audiences through its storytelling.
